Åbro Bryggeri
|
Åbro Bryggeri was founded in 1856 just outside
Vimmerby in Småland. Back then it was called "Bayerska bryggeriet".
Since 1898 it has been family owned, and it is now on to its 4th generation.
They claim that the water they take from their own spring is one of their
most important supplies.
| |
Apart from brewing Åbro also produces lemode and tonic water, and
works as an importer various beverages. The total outlet in '95 was
almost 80 million litres. Their beer are available all over the country.
All beers they brew are lagers, and the most noteworthy among them are
Wiesgickl Pils, a German style pils named after their current
brewmaster Albrekt Wiesgickl. Also their Åbro Julbock, a
strong, dark and spicy Christmas beer is interesting.
