Swedish Breweries - Melings Bryggeri
Melings Bryggeri

- Melings are out of business -

The history of Melings Bryggeri goes back all the way to 1882, but for some years they only made lemonade. In 1996 they once again started their production of beer again, and with a monthly production of 15-20 000 litres they are currently one of the smaller brewers in the country.

Melings don't actually brew their beer themselve's. They let Fors Nya Bryggeri do that for them, and then they filter it themselves. Since they actually influences at least one part of the process, I'll refrain from putting them in the same category of fake breweries as Åre Bryggeri.

Situated in Fagersta their main market are the regions Västmanland, Dalarna, Uppland and Gästrikland. All Melings beers are unpasteurized, which gives a great advantage in taste, but demands more from the retailers. Both Melings beers that are available on Systembolaget are good examples of unpasteurized lagers with the advantage in quality small scale brewing creates.

Curently none of Meling's brews are available on tap, but they are aiming towards a local distribution in the near future.

Currently their products are:
