As spring offfered good weather we were able to do outdoor s beer drinking by the sea.
We had plenty of good beer coming from people such as
Josh Oakes,
Bov,
jbrus
duff,
hopsrus,
fiulijn
Jacob Lövenlund,
DougShoemaker,
Björn Alnebo, Bernt Myrvold and many I've just forgotten about.
There was a great diversity among the tested beers. We had a chance to taste microbrewed South American beers for the first time in the form of three beers that came to is in funny ways from El Bolson. The quality of these varied, but nevertheless it's not every day you can drink Argentinian rauchbier. We also had the opportunity to try some more Australian microbrews of which Little Creatures Rogers Beer scored the highest. We also had a bunch of North American microbrews from various sources. Some of them extremely vast in character, like Bell's Batch 5000, a very smokey beer, which I just loved, but others hated. In the end the best scoring was a classical example of well hopped American pale ale from Full Sail. However the winning beers hadn't treavelled that far to reach us. Gamla stans Bryggeri, a Stockholm brewpub that haven't exactly been overflowing with innovations the past 5 years suddenly shocked everyone by releasing new product. Their hefeweizen Gamla Stans Veteöl is a great example of the style, and took the goup by storm. Second place went to the small brewer Les Artisans Brasseurs in Namur, Belgium for their flavourful and well balanced Aldegonde Ambree. In third place we'll find another hefeweizen, this time Rothaus from Baadische Saatsbrauerei in Germany. We also managed to score to new countries, Nepal and Myanmar. None of the beers were however among the worlds finest, but welcome additions to the collections anyway.
