Ahlafors Bryggerier
Surely a municipality that bears the name Ale must have a brewery of their own. So in 1994 beer enthustiasts started planning for a microbrewery in Alafors, north of Göteborg. Since then they have worked their way up, and are now one of the most interesting breweries in the country, much thanks to their brewmaster, Patrick Holmqvist that was once Swedish champion in brewing.

In June 1996 their first beer, a lager by the name Ahlafors Ljusa was out on the market. It was very well recieved by beer writers. Despite low bitterness the use of Saaz hops makes you think of a Czechish style pilsner.

In november two new ales was released. The copper coloured, well hopped Ahle Ale, and the darker, more fullbodied and richer Christmas seasonal Ahle Julöl. They also produce Ahle Svagdricka, which is a traditional brew, very low in alcoholic content, very sweet, and though malt and hops are the main ingredients it's not too similar to ordinary beer.
Currently their products are:
  • Ahlafors Ljusa - Lager (5,0%)
  • Ahle Ale - Ale (5,0%)
  • Ahle Svagdricka - Svagdricka (<2.25%)

    Seasonals:

  • Ahle Julöl - Ale (5,0%) Christmas beer
