Per's comments: Opaque black, rich beige head. Fruity nose with vanilla/oak and coffee/licorice. Sweet and full bodied with syrup and coffee as ell as bourbon and molasses. Sugar and bourbon grows to dominate. On the surface it acts just as the top examples of the highly praised concept of bourbon barrel aging dark ales. A closer inspection reveals a stickyness and fruitiness, and it lacks elegance. It is tasty, but still feels like a poor photo copy of a masterpiece. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
