Per´s comments: Oh, this hurts. Sofiero was the pioneering microbrewery in Sweden, and their lagers were intensly flavourful and a welcome break from what the other breweries offered. Sadly they went out of business some years ago and the brewery was bought by Kopparberg. Now they try to relaunch the brand, but it´s hard to imagine a worse failure. It pours pale yellow and forms an airy head that fizzes out to nothing within seconds. The nose is sweaty and full of green vegetables, unclean sugar and egg-fart. The body is gassy and so thin it cuts your tongue, and the sweetness is intense. I look down at whats left in my glass (which sadly is a lot) while I wonder if I had drank it already, or if I shall drink it? It smells like the former... | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
