Per´s comments: Funny place for a brewery. If it wasn´t for the sign "fresh beer" I wouldn´t have guessed that they had a brewery inside the restaurant (actually the lagering tanks were on display in another section of the restaurant, called "Beijing Roast Duck", I believe) Well, the beer came absolutely pitch black with small beige head. The aroma held generous amonuts of chocoalate and some licorice. It was medium bodied with rounded mouthfeel. Chocolate dominates, but there are notes of tar as well. Full flavoured with medium bitterness. As enjoyable as the superb Chongqing Chicken here, and at around a 5th of the price of the beers at Paulaner 300m away a bargain. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
