Ohhh... My Head... - Midwinter tastings '05

The best scoring beers during the darkest time of the year was Girardin Gueuze (White label), the filtered version of Girardin's gueuze. The breweries in 2nd and 3rd position are no surprises. Both Abbaye des Rocs and Dark Star has reputations as some of the world's best breweries. We also had a sauna tasting, where beers from tropical coutries, and less flavourful beers from elsewhere were served in an environment that was more suited to them than Swedish winter. The result of this experiment was probably that bad beer does not better just because of heat, but the heat makes it easier to tolerate the bad taste... Not even sauna heat is however sufficient to tolerate crap such as Sofiero Guld.
