Per´s comments: Hazy amber, no head. Deep woody, malty aroma. Superb megadee, chewy maltiness. Port and wood is very obvious. Alcohol is there, but only enhances the fabulous flavours, and despite it´s size it is hugely drinkable. The sweetness however creeps up on you, butmy overall impression is that this is the best showpiece there is when it comes to malt character. Ultra-superb! Fredrik N´s comments: Orangebrown without head. Malty aroma with tones of nuts, pears and cocoa. Fruity flavor with tones of chocolate, nuts, pralines and cocoa. The alcohol is present but at a very finetuned level. It has a finishing bitter touch but it is a bit to small. Other than that this is a perfect beer. A beer to fall in love with and a beer to kill for. It is huge both in aroma and in flavor. The palate is absolutely breathtaking. It is up there with Old Crustacean and George Gale³s Jubilee ale. Get it, cellar it and enjoy it But save some for me. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
